Welcome to
HoustonMFR.com!
My name is Tom Brooke, and I am married with two children, the older
is married and helped develop this
website, and the younger graduated from Texas A&M University. I graduated with a
Bachelor of Science degree and am a Licensed Massage
Therapist by the State of Texas. In addition to mastering the state
requirements, I have also completed the advanced National Massage course
curriculum. I am a current member of the American Massage Therapy
Association. Currently I am enrolled in the Masters/PhD program of
Holistic Nutrition at Clayton College of Natural Health. Eventually,
nutritional counseling will be integrated into my massage practice. I continue
to build upon my massage therapy skills by taking advanced training to insure
that my clients are receiving the best, up-to-date care possible. During
my basic massage training, and all through my more advanced and specialized
education, many instructors encouraged me with their observations that I
possessed an innate and natural ability to be effective in providing beneficial
massage.
Myofascial
Release Treatment courses I have completed
include Myofasical Release 1 and 2, Unwinding, Pediatrics, Fascial-Pelvis,
and SES. The skill enhancement seminar (SES) was a one week
internship-type training, where I worked directly with John Barnes and his staff
treating clients at his treatment center in Paoli, Pennsylvania. I have
also been a teaching assistant in MFR 1.
In addition, I have completed
five CranioSacral courses taught by
the John Upledger Institute, CS 1 and 2, SER 1 and 2, and Advanced
Unwinding Accupressure. I have also been a teaching assistant in
CranioSacral 1. Other massage courses that I have
completed are: Swedish massage (a comforting, relaxing, and invigorating
massage), Deep
tissue, Sports massage, Reflexology, Trigger point, hydrotherapy, Lypossage
(cellulite reduction treatment), Pregnancy and advanced pregnancy massage.
My desire is to share my touch ability and to help people
achieve relief from stress and discomfort, as well as to assist them in
overcoming chronic pain and dysfunction, while providing lasting improvement
where possible. I am willing and prepared to help assist you on your path to
healing, whether you are looking for relief from everyday stress with a
relaxation massage, or from pain and dysfunction with a myofascial release
and/or craniosacral treatment.
